Mastering Number

Mastering Number is the programme we use to teach the Early Learning Goals in reception, and to continue developing Number Sense in KS1. An introductory video can be found below but if you wish to receive further CPD, please contact your maths lead. 

This project aims to secure firm foundations in the development of good number sense for all children from Reception through to Year 1 and Year 2. The aim over time is that children will leave KS1 with fluency in calculation and a confidence and flexibility with number. Attention will be given to key knowledge and understanding needed in Reception classes, and progression through KS1 to support success in the future.

Power Maths CPD for Years 1 to 6

Power Maths is used from year 1 to year 6, in most schools across the trust. This recorded CPD is for teachers using Power Maths in Year 1 to 6: this CPD gives you an insight into the lesson structure and how to use the online resources well, ensuring you can work flexibly with the scheme and still have autonomy. Even if you are not following Power Maths, the CPD will still be useful as the lesson structure relates to the EEF 5-a-day priciples (poster can be found below).
